Ofsted Style – Parent Survey

Prepare for Ofsted with our online Ofsted Style- Parent Survey

What is it?

Our online survey acts as a ‘dry run’ for developing the Parent View, so you can anticipate how parents may respond during an inspection. Crucially, it allows the school to know in advance the type of areas Ofsted might probe further—especially if the survey highlights parental dissatisfaction around key areas such as behaviour, safeguarding, communication, or SEND provision.

Key benefits:

Provides Measurable Data

Identifies areas of improvement

Provides a Safe, Structured Feedback Mechanism

Our Ofsted Parent View surveys contains:

• 14 core statements/questions

• +1 additional question if the parent indicates their child has SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities)

• +5 additional questions for boarding or residential schools only

Most mainstream schools (Primary & Secondary) will therefore have 14 to 15 questions in total.

Categories of Questions

Our Ofsted-style survey divides questions into 5 clear categories:

1. Pupil Wellbeing and Safety

2. Behaviour and Expectations

3. Teaching, Learning and Progress

4. Leadership, Communication and Parental Concerns

5. Wider Curriculum and Personal Development

6 SEND questions if applicable

Additional (for boarding/residential schools): 5 extra questions about boarding welfare and residential provision.

Finally, there is an optional Free-Text Comments section.
